Job summary

Mt. Carmel Hospice in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Hospice Educator (RN) to lead clinical education, orientation, and competency development for our hospice team.

The role focuses on onboarding, education program design, and ongoing training to ensure regulatory compliance and clinical excellence. The educator will mentor staff, collaborate with leadership, and support quality improvement initiatives while traveling across the service area as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Education Program.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, compliance, and clinical practice standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to create educational materials and curricula.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel throughout the service area as needed.
• Commitment to Mt. Carmel’s mission, values, Code of Ethics, and Compliance Program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized orientation plans for new clinicians.
• Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to facilitate onboarding.
• Provide oversight of field orientation and monitor competency goals.
• Review clinical documentation and provide coaching and feedback.
• Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs for staff.
• Facilitate monthly and ongoing education sessions.
• Support documentation improvement and survey readiness.
