Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, part of Empath Health, is seeking a compassionate CNA to support Hospice Houses in Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice and related units. Shifts run 8:00 am–8:30 pm at various facilities, with potential travel between Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota and Venice as needed.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to the Hospice Aide Plan, and maintaining confidentiality while supporting patients and families in Southwest Florida.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License (required if driving between facilities).
• One to Three Years of training and/or experience required.
• One year of experience in a long term care facility strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in the written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care).
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.
