Job summary

Gentiva is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide/CNA to deliver direct personal care and emotional support for patients in private homes, assisted living facilities, or inpatient units. You will assist with daily activities, monitor wellbeing, and document visits to ensure quality of care.

Ideal candidates hold an active CNA license in the state, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, and at least six months of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance are required.
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience is required.
• Experience working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility using walkers or wheelchairs.
• Help with meals and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.
