Job summary

Gentiva is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide/CNA to provide hands-on personal care and emotional support for patients at home, in assisted living facilities, or inpatient units. You’ll work as part of a dedicated hospice care team, delivering comfort and dignity during end-of-life journeys.

Ideal candidates hold an active CNA license, CPR certification, and at least 6 months of direct patient care experience, with reliable transportation and the ability to work independently in home settings.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Required).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required).
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (Required).
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long‑term care environments.
• Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility, including use of walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in the patient’s condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
