Job summary

Queen City Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide CNA to provide direct personal care in home settings across the Greater Cincinnati area. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and dignity in end-of-life care.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, vital signs, documenting care, and offering emotional support to patients and families. A valid STNA/CNA credential and current BLS are required, with a family-focused, supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Active STNA/CNA certification and listed on state nurse aide registry in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Excellent communication and observational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to hospice patients in home settings.
• Assist with ADLs including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting.
• Support patient comfort and safety with medical equipment.
• Perform skin care and positioning to prevent breakdown.
• Assist with meal prep, feeding and light household tasks.
• Take and document vital signs as directed.
• Observe and report changes to the RN Case Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to hospice patients in home settings
• Assist with activities of daily living ADLs including bathing grooming oral care dressing and toileting
• Support patient comfort and safety including proper use of medical equipment oxygen bed rails etc
• Perform skin care and positioning to prevent breakdown and promote comfort
• Assist with meal preparation feeding and light household tasks as assigned
• Take and document vital signs temperature pulse respirations blood pressure as directed
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN Case Manager
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families
• Offer respite care for caregivers when needed
• Maintain accurate timely documentation in compliance with hospice standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Active State Tested Nursing Assistant STNA Certified Nursing Assistant CNA certification
• Listed on the state nurse aide registry in good standing
• Current BLS Passionate care to terminally ill patients Strong communication and observational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in hospice home health or long term care
• Experience supporting patients with chronic or terminal conditions
