Goodwin Living is seeking a RN leader to oversee hospice operations in the Alexandria, VA region. You will supervise the clinical team, coordinate care plans, and ensure regulatory compliance while guiding staff through daily challenges and on-call duties.

You will lead quality initiatives, manage documentation, and partner with educators to advance clinical programs. A strong nursing background in hospice care and a passion for service are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license and minimum 5 years in hospice/palliative care.
• Certified Hospice and Palliative Care, preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational ability with a motivation to assist in program development.
• Ability to respond to the needs of terminally ill residents and families in varied settings.
• Ability to cope with family emotional stress and tolerance of diverse lifestyles.
• Demonstrated computer skills for documents, spreadsheets and database management and ability to learn new EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical team staffing, training, scheduling, and staff evaluation.
• Serve as primary contact for patients and families with care plan updates.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and on-call administration.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards; implement improvements.
• Identify education needs and organize training in collaboration with educators.
• Monitor performance, set expectations, provide feedback.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
• Participate in quality improvement and program development.
