Job summary

AccentCare in Houston, TX is seeking a Hospice Chaplain to provide spiritual care for patients and families. You will conduct assessments, support bereavement processes, and collaborate with faith communities to meet diverse spiritual needs.

The role requires ordination/credentialing, a theology/divinity degree, and ACPE-certified CPE units, with on-call rotation and full-time hours in a hospital-at-home hospice setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Ordained or credentialed per respective faith tradition.
• Three CPE units from ACPE are required.
• Ability to provide inter-faith spiritual care.

Responsibilities

• Support families through anticipatory grief and post-death bereavement processes.
• Complete the spiritual needs assessment of patient and family for hospice services.
• Serve as liaison to the patient and family's community of faith.
• Respond to patient and family needs.
• Support patient and family's clergy or other spiritual caregiver in relation to terminal illness.
• Build relationships of care, empowering individuals in their spiritual journey.
