Job summary

Caretenders Hospice, a part of LHC Group, is part of the Optum family and seeks a Chaplain/Spiritual Caregiver to provide spiritual care to Hospice patients and their families. You’ll work within a compassionate team to support emotional and spiritual well-being in the home setting.

The role requires 2+ units of Clinical Pastoral Education or a Biblical/theological degree, plus 2+ years in a healthcare or pastoral role, and a current endorsement. A valid driver's license is needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ units of Clinical Pastoral Education or Bachelor's degree in theology, divinity, pastoral care, philosophy, religion or related discipline
• 2+ years of experience in a health care setting and/or related pastoral experience
• Documentation of endorsed status within the applicant's faith tradition; recognized by relevant boards
• Documentation of good standing with their spiritual/faith group with no ethical charges
• Current driver's license and access to dependable vehicle or public transport

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to Hospice patients and their families across diverse backgrounds
• Lead spiritual conversations with patients/caregivers and respect beliefs unless asked to share personal views
• Utilize broad spiritual resources and network with community religious leaders for referrals
• Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team and contribute to IDG meetings on emotional and spiritual needs
• Provide spiritual and emotional care to Hospice staff when requested
