Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Hospice Business Office Specialist II to support billing, collections, and administrative processes. You will ensure accurate documentation and timely reimbursement while collaborating with internal teams to uphold regulatory and company standards.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and problem solving as you handle patient accounts, payor communications, and revenue cycle activities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in healthcare billing, collections, revenue cycle, or administrative support.
• 1+ years of experience working with patient accounts, insurance verification, or reimbursement processes.
• 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office or similar systems for documentation and reporting.
• Proven solid organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Preferred: experience in hospice, home health, or healthcare revenue cycle operations.

Responsibilities

• Process billing, collections, and reimbursement activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payor requirements
• Review and maintain patient account information, resolving discrepancies and supporting timely claim processing
• Communicate with internal teams, payors, and stakeholders to address account issues and support revenue cycle activities
• Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards
• Support business office processes through reporting, workflow management, and continuous improvement initiatives
