Job summary

Cherish Hospice in Northern Indiana is seeking an Associate Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and physician oversight that shapes the quality of hospice care across diverse settings, from homes to long-term care facilities.

This role combines bedside expertise with system-wide standards, certifying prognosis, leading IDG meetings, guiding pain and symptom management, and mentoring the care team to ensure dignity, comfort, and compassionate support for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Indiana Medical License (MD or DO).
• Board Certification in Hospice or Palliative Medicine (preferred).
• Current DEA registration.
• 1+ years hospice or palliative care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and physician oversight shaping care quality across Northern Indiana.
• Certify and recertify terminal prognosis and participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centered, comfort-focused hospice care.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and proper documentation across the agency.
• Mentor hospice staff to build clinical judgment and confidence across care teams.
