Job summary

Join our compassionate hospice care team at UnityPoint Health as a Hospice Aide - Inpatient, providing personal care, homemaking support, and companionship to patients at end of life. You’ll work closely with the RN Case Manager and interdisciplinary team to ensure comfort, dignity, and quality of life in a professional setting.

The role includes a Monday-Thursday shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, a $3,000 new hire sign-on bonus, and opportunities to grow within a nationally recognized health

Qualifications

• Completion of Nursing Assistant Training Program (≥75 hours) with no 24-month gap in CNA/Home Care Aide work since completion.
• Valid driver's license required for work-related driving.
• CPR Certification required.
• Mandatory Reporter training completed per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Uses appropriate and safe techniques in performing personal hygiene and grooming tasks such as bed or tub bath, shower assistance, hair care, oral hygiene, toileting and incontinence care, light housekeeping, and other tasks assigned by the RN case manager.
• Creates successful interpersonal relationships with patients/families while maintaining personal and professional boundaries.
• Reports changes in the patient’s medical, nursing, and social needs to the RN case manager as the changes relate to the plan of care.
• Completes rover care plan accurately and in a timely manner while being compliant with the hospice program policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant Training Program of a minimum of 75 hours with no continuous period of 24 months without compensation for Home Care Aide/CNA work since completion

Licensure/Certifications:

• Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
• CPR Certification
• Valid Mandatory Reporter course completion by state(s) requirement

Experience:

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant Training Program of a minimum of 75 hours with no continuous period of 24 months without compensation for Home Care Aide/CNA work after completion.
