Job summary

Care Initiatives Hospice in Sioux City, Iowa is seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide to assist patients at home, in long-term care, and in hospital settings. You will perform daily living activities, provide emotional support, and work closely with families and the care team to ensure compassionate, dignified care.

This role requires CPR certification, a valid driver's license, and travel between multiple locations within the region.

Qualifications

• Active CPR certification is required.
• Experience as Hospice Aide/Home Health Aide/CNA within the last 24 months preferred.
• Hospice/palliative care experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel between locations within the region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification (CHPN) within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating).
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare team.

Care Initiatives is looking for a Hospice Aide to help serve our patients in Storm Lake, Cherokee & surrounding areas!

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Deliver emotional support and provide companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Interact and communicate with residents, families, as well as the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocolsto ensure a clean and safe environment for safety.

Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months, preferred.
• Hospice or palliative care experience, preferred.Active CPR certification, required.
• Current driver's license, automobile liability insurance, and the ability to travel between multiple locations within your region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification (through CHPN) within 24 months of employment.
