Care Initiatives Hospice – Cedar Rapids is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to provide comprehensive, dignified care to patients at home, in facilities, and across locations in the Cedar Rapids area. You will work with families and the care team to tailor support that respects patient needs during life’s final stages.

The role emphasizes physical, emotional, and spiritual care, with a collaborative ethos and commitment to quality, respectful service for patients and their loved ones.

Qualifications

• Active CPR certification required.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel between locations.
• Experience as Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or CNA in the last 24 months preferred.
• Hospice or palliative care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Deliver emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
• Interact with residents, families and healthcare team to coordinate care.
• Encourage recreational and therapeutic activities to promote wellbeing.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Deliver emotional support and provide companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Interact and communicate with residents, families, as well as the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocolsto ensure a clean and safe environment for safety.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months, preferred.
• Hospice or palliative care experience, preferred.
• Active CPR certification, required.
• Current driver's license, automobile liability insurance, and the ability to travel between multiple locations within your region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification (through CHPN) within 24 months of employment.
