Care Initiatives Hospice in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, holistic care in home, long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings.

You will support daily living activities, offer companionship, and work closely with families and the healthcare team to tailor care. The role requires CPR, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Experience as Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or CNA in past 24 months preferred.
• Hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
• Active CPR certification required.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel between locations within your region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification (CHPN) within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, eating.
• Deliver emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
• Interact with residents, families, and healthcare team.
• Encourage recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and routines.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Deliver emotional support and provide companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Interact and communicate with residents, families, as well as the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for safety.

Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months, preferred.
• Hospice or palliative care experience, preferred.
• Active CPR certification, required.
• Current driver's license, automobile liability insurance, and the ability to travel between multiple locations within your region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification (through CHPN) within 24 months of employment.
