John M. Corcoran & Company seeks a Horticulturist to maintain grounds and enhance curb appeal across properties in Massachusetts, northern Rhode Island, and southern New Hampshire. Travel across the portfolio is required, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a focus on quality landscaping to build vibrant communities within a respected New England firm.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or certificate in horticulture or equivalent.
• Knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
• Ability to operate power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, pruners, chainsaws and other landscaping equipment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to pass background screening, Drug and Alcohol screening and Physical and Agility tests at time of hire and throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grass/lawns; ensure proper irrigation and fertilization
• Ensure proper irrigation of shrubs, grass, flowers, and trees
• Set railroad ties
• Safely operate and maintain power equipment per manufacturer instructions
• Monitor and work with outside contractors and suppliers
• Assist in response to emergency storm situations
• Help with snow and ice management
• Assist with truck deliveries as requested

The Horticulturist role is responsible for providing quality maintenance of assigned grounds and providing acceptable curb appeal. Maintains the grounds' beautification, which may involve using ladders, pruners, chainsaws, and other equipment. The Horticulturist will travel to properties across our portfolio as needed, including locations throughout Massachusetts, Northern Rhode Island, and Southern New Hampshire.

Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, pruners, chainsaws and other landscaping equipment. Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to follow detailed instructions. Ability to pass background screening, Drug and Alcohol screening and Physical and Agility tests at time of hire and throughout employment.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

The posted salary range represents the full range of experience levels for the position. Candidates with extensive relevant experience (i.e. 20+ years) may qualify for compensation near the top of the range, while those with less experience may fall at another point within the range.

Position pay range

$26.75 - $38 USD
