North Carolina A&T State University seeks an EHRA Extension Assistant for the Small Farms Unit in Goldsboro, NC. You will help manage research-based outreach, demonstrations, and trainings in sustainable crop production for limited-resource audiences.

Requirements include a relevant Bachelor's degree, 2+ years in horticulture, strong communication, driver’s license, and ability to travel. Remote/hybrid work is possible per policy; salary range $40,000–$50,000; open 06/15/2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Plant Sciences, Applied Horticulture, Agriculture or Extension Education in related field.
• Two or more years of experience with horticulture crop production and organic production systems.
• Computer literacy (proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Office).
• Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel and work after hours/weekends as needed.
• Valid Driver’s license and personal transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with applied research and demonstrations related to testing production methods and sustainable crop development.
• Conduct field-staff and farmer trainings in sustainable crop production.
