Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for the Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice - Extension Community & Economic Development Specialist. This non-tenured twelve-month EHRA faculty role leads statewide Extension programs in CED, provides training to staff, and builds capacity in underserved communities.

The position may be eligible for remote or hybrid work under university policies; residency within NC within a 2-hour commuting distance is required.

Qualifications

• Requires Ph.D – an earned doctorate in rural sociology, community resource development, urban and regional planning, economics, extension education or closely related field.
• Three or more years of experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Ability to interact and gain support from constituencies outside the university such as business and industry, state and federal agencies and non-profit and private foundations.
• Computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead statewide Extension programs in Community & Economic Development (CED) to serve limited-resource and socially disadvantaged audiences.
• Deliver training and educational materials to field staff and their clientele to advance community growth and resilience.
• Build capacity of communities and align with Extension's mission and objectives.
• Teach for-credit coursework up to 25% time when released.
