Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Horizontal Construction Engineer to operate bulldozers and roadgraders, clear sites and level earth for runways and roads. You will move heavy materials, assist in engineer missions, and train while earning a regular paycheck.

Expect nine weeks of Basic Training followed by nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training; you’ll learn Soldiering skills and field techniques while on duty—paid during training and eligible for tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a high school graduate or have a GED.
• Enlistment in the Army National Guard is required.
• Ability to pass a physical exam and meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment to clear sites.
• Level earth for runways and roadbeds; clear, excavate and move material.
• Assist in combat engineer missions and transport heavy materials.
