Job Details:

Job Location: Bangor, Me - Bangor, ME, As a member of the Hope House Management Team, the Hope House Shelter Supervisor ensures the provision of high-quality services in alignment with the agency mission through the supervision of the direct-service team, functional management of the program, leadership in program activities, and provision of direct services to clients. The Supervisor also participates in program development and evaluation, resource and systems development, community relations and grants management in support of the Program Director.

The Hope House Shelter Supervisor supports casework and client support services staff in the delivery of community integration, supportive services (both milieu and individually based), and housing navigation services, including direct service provision, directing, and coaching direct service staff in service provision, and ensuring thorough and timely documentation of services provided.

Population Served: Individuals who are experiencing homelessness

Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 6am - 2:30pm.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, along with experience in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness, is required. A comparable combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

Required skills and knowledge:

Effective crisis intervention skills and maintain a working knowledge of the needs of vulnerable populations, including individuals with substance use disorders, mental illness, and histories of trauma. Candidates must have an understanding of the Preble Street mission and harm reduction, as well as a positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty.

In addition, this position requires the ability to lead shifts and manage the program environment, facilitate community-building activities, coordinate service provision, ensure staff coverage, and oversee transition activities to maintain a safe and supportive space.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate of pay for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is $30.78 per hour. As a direct service position in a 24/7 program, this position is eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm or $2.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.
