Job summary

Martinrea is seeking a Group Leader to motivate the workforce to meet production and quality requirements while maintaining a safe work environment. This role enforces policies, directs, and disciplines associates to accomplish tasks on the production floor.

The ideal candidate has automotive manufacturing experience, strong urgency, and people skills to supervise and develop teams, ensuring daily schedules and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of college or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment or combination of education and experience.
  • Intimate knowledge of welding, metal stamping and forming, and/or paint operations.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience including customer releasing and shipping knowledge.
  • Very strong sense of urgency and the ability to get things done.
  • Must be people oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, develop and conduct evaluations of assigned associates.
  • Make sure daily manufacturing requirements are met to meet customer demands.
  • Ensure conformance to all quality systems and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment for self and subordinates.
  • Coordinate manufacturing schedules with Production Control.
  • Work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials, WIP, MRO items, and human resources.
  • Meet financial goals as outlined in the business plan.
  • Coordinate with all parties to ensure new product launches are defect free and on time.
  • Help identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal/State/Local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Seek ways to reduce waste, manufacturing byproducts, and hazardous raw materials.
  • Report and enter daily scrap in CMS.
  • Inspire teamwork among associates.
  • Solve production problems.
  • Create a participative management environment.
  • Meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Inspire continuous improvement.
  • Abide by all company policies including health and safety, quality and environmental systems, HR policies, and employee handbook.

Job Summary:

Working Conditions
  • 20% office, 80% plant floor (PPE required)
