Kept Companies specializes in commercial fleet washing, retail equipment refurbishing and sales, refrigeration, hood, coil, solar panel cleaning, and parking lot services.

We have new opportunities for a full-time Kitchen Exhaust “hood” Cleaner Technician. This role involves providing scheduled hood cleaning services for restaurants, grocery stores, and other commercial kitchens. This service is crucial for fire safety and protecting property, people, and the community. The position is vital in delivering high-quality, on-time customer service. Vehicle, equipment, and training are provided by the company. The work is physically demanding and labor-intensive.

Work is primarily during the night or early morning, with occasional day or weekend shifts. Our company leads the industry in preventative maintenance and on-call repairs for retail, wholesale, and grocery sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and testing tasks.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface, demonstrating courtesy and professionalism, and addressing customer issues.
  • Diagnose technical problems and determine solutions.
  • Use mobile technology to complete service tickets, monitor time, submit reports, and manage expenses.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Maintain organized warehouse, take physical inventory, and keep accurate counts.
  • Keep vehicle, tools, and equipment organized and maintained (all provided by the company).
  • Work as part of a crew of two to three for thorough kitchen and exhaust cleaning services.
  • Set up and tear down equipment at job sites.
  • Knowledge of hood cleaning is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
  • Report any NFPA 98 deficiencies in hood systems.
  • Follow photo documentation procedures and safety rules.
  • Use hot water pressure washing, degreasers, and scrapers for cleaning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Prior hood cleaning or pressure washing experience preferred but training is provided.
  • Flexible schedule for night and early morning shifts (graveyard position).
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical and equipment issues.
  • Physical ability to lift 50-70 lbs and perform maintenance tasks.
  • Practice safety using protective equipment.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, reliable, honest, and a team player.
  • Pass criminal background and DMV record checks.
