Job summary

Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa in Honolulu, part of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, seeks a line cook to prepare food items to Crescent standards in a fast-paced kitchen. You will follow recipes, maintain safety and sanitation, and support smooth kitchen operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and some food service experience. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required to meet guest needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Previous experience as a cook or in food service is an advantage
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
• Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards, ensuring perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line setup; note any out-of-stock items or shortages; assist in keeping buffet stocked.
• Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, covering/ dating perishables.
• Assist in setting up plans to correct any food cost problems and control waste according to Crescent standards.
• Operate, maintain and clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
