Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Research in College Station, TX is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support honey bee microbiome and health studies. You will prepare materials, maintain lab spaces, and assist with apiary upkeep under supervision.

Requires an Associate degree or equivalent with ≥1 year of lab experience; beekeeping or basic microbiology familiarity is a plus. This staff role includes lab and field tasks in a dynamic research environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with related lab experience.
• One year of related laboratory work experience.
• Experience with basic microbiology or molecular biology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist researchers with honey bee microbiome and bee health experiments.
• Prepare buffers, media, and other materials for microbiology and molecular biology experiments.
• Autoclave laboratory materials and help clean and sterilize reusable supplies.
• Maintain and organize laboratory spaces, inventories, and shared equipment.
• Assist with apiary maintenance and colony health checks.
