Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Research in Dallas seeks a Non-Affiliated Student Technician to lead insect colony care for the Controlled Environment Agriculture Entomology program, and to assist staff and graduate students with field prep and data collection in the lab, greenhouses and high tunnel.

The position requires current enrollment at a community college or university, strong communication and detail-orientation, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead the husbandry and maintenance of colonies including whiteflies, thrips, aphids, ladybugs, and big-eyed bugs.
• Assist with preparing supplies and materials for insect experiments.
• Assist with data collection and experiment clean up.
• Miscellaneous tasks in the lab, greenhouse or high tunnel may be assigned.
