Metro Nashville Government seeks an experienced Homeless Outreach Coordinator to implement a coordinated outreach effort with Metro and nonprofit partners. The role focuses on rapidly linking people experiencing outdoor homelessness to services and shelter options, while following up on Metro requests related to outdoor homelessness.

The position requires collaboration across departments, data entry and reporting skills, and the ability to respond to extreme weather needs.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of experience working with people experiencing homelessness
• Experience in crisis management/mediation and trauma‑informed care
• Experience creating spreadsheets/databases and creating reports
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Metro departments, social service agencies, businesses, and community groups to move people off the streets
• Assist with data entry projects and Coordinated Entry to support the overview of outdoor homelessness in Nashville
• Provide direct outreach and housing navigation to people sleeping outdoors in Davidson County
• Maintain an accurate contact list of outreach groups and share it with partners
• Co-lead efforts to ensure an accurate Point In Time (PIT) count and staff related committees
• Initiate processes that reduce harm to people experiencing unsheltered homelessness and encourage shelter access
• Coordinate extreme weather responses and staffing for overflow facilities
• Assist in staffing phone lines to coordinate services and outreach to landlords
• Other duties as assigned.
