First Day Homecare is seeking a registered nurse to provide skilled nursing services in pediatric homecare settings across Ottawa County, MI. The role follows physician orders and care plans, with supervision from a Clinical Supervisor.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, CPR certification, and demonstrates clear communication, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a team-based care environment. Flexible scheduling and patient-focused care are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and client care plan.
• Documents changes in orders in the medical record; follow Agency procedures.
• Care includes tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings as applicable.
• Collaborates with the client’s care team; maintain safety and compliance.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours:

• Seeking day and night shifts for clients throughout Ottawa County. Working with clients ages 0 and up with trachs, vents, and feeding tubes.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

Provides Supervision To: NA – No supervision responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.
