Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a Registered Nurse to perform skilled nursing functions under physician orders and in accordance with Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

The role reports to the Clinical Supervisor and involves 1:1 patient care, with shifts including weekend days, nights, and afternoons in Kalamazoo, MI. Competitive benefits and flexible scheduling support family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification and strong communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provide care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintain orders for clients and document all changes in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• Scope of practice includes personal care, monitoring, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and pediatric services such as tracheostomy care and ventilator management.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promote personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Perform duties in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable standards.
• Coordinate care and attend Agency meetings as requested.
• Perform other related duties as deemed necessary.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours:

• Kalamazoo, MI : 8-hour weekend day shifts.
• Kalamazoo, MI : 8-12-hour night shifts
• Kalamazoo, MI : 8-hour afternoon shifts.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Provides Supervision To: NA – No supervision responsibilities

• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.
