Job summary

First Day Homecare® seeks a licensed RN to perform skilled nursing functions for pediatric private duty clients under physician orders. You will deliver care under the direction of medical practitioners, following state Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

Responsibilities include providing professional nursing care, following client care plans, documenting changes, supervising clinical tasks (including tracheostomy, ventilator care, and tube feedings as needed), and collaborating with the care team

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school.
• Current RN license in operating state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
