Job summary

First Day Homecare, LLC in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse to perform skilled nursing functions under physician orders and Nurse Practice Act guidelines. The role reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides care without supervision to clients as part of a homecare team.

The RN will document changes in orders, monitor and report findings, administer medications, and support client teaching, safety, and coordination of care in collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined by the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care per physician orders and client care plan.
• Maintains client orders and documents changes in the medical record.
• Scope includes personal care, monitoring and reporting, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and pediatric services (tracheostomy care, ventilator management, tube feedings).
• Works with the client’s care team to coordinate care and ensure safety.
• Adheres to Agency policies and accrediting standards.
• Attends Agency meetings as requested.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

Current RN license in the state of operation

Current CPR certification

Written and verbal communication skills

Schedule / Expected Work Hours

• Battle Creek, MI: 12‑hour weekend day shifts.
• Battle Creek, MI: 8‑12‑hour day/night shifts.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

Provides Supervision To: NA – No supervision responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.
