Job summary

First Day Homecare - Michigan is seeking a skilled registered nurse to perform nursing functions in clients' homes under physician orders. The role operates under federal, state, and local laws, aligned with professional standards.

The RN will provide care per care plans, document orders, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality home-based services. Valid MI RN license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license to practice in Michigan.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per state Nurse Practice Act and client care plan.
• Document changes to orders in medical records following agency procedures.
• Deliver scope of clinical practice including personal care, monitoring, medication administration, teaching, and emergency intervention.
• Collaborate with the client’s care team to coordinate services.
• Maintain client safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Adhere to agency policies and accreditation standards.
• Participate in care coordination and agency meetings as requested.
• Perform other related duties as deemed necessary.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours

• Teenage client in need of day shifts Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends.
• Toddler aged client in need of day shifts M-F 9a-1p

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.
