Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Construction Area Manager to supervise General Superintendents, Superintendents and Project Managers across designated communities.

You will implement company policies, update reports, and ensure quality control throughout the construction process. The role requires planning field activities, directing crews, monitoring costs, and driving profitability while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; seven years of related experience and/or training.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
• General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email; ability to utilize DRH Construction apps on mobile or laptop.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct construction activities in the field.
• Set build times on each plan and provide schedules.
• Maintain profitability by reviewing field purchase orders and controlling costs.
• Develop and train Project Managers and field staff.
• Oversee field operations and ensure quality control to meet standards.
• Ensure safety standards and compliance with regulations.
• Travel overnight as required.
• Cooperate with public agencies and utilities for permits and approvals.
