Job summary

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care, perform only approved procedures, and suggest plan-of-care changes to supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate care with the health care team.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and others on therapy within the PT assistant scope.
