Job summary

UnitedHealth Group and Caretenders, part of LHC Group, are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in home care. Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and work under the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety and prosthetic training.
• Observes and reports patient responses and coordinates care with the healthcare team.
• Educates patient, family, caregiver, and other health care team members on therapy within the scope of practice.
