Job summary

Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Home Preservation Project Manager to oversee owner-occupied repair projects from assessment to completion. You will ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining safety and quality for homeowners, staff, volunteers, and subcontractors.

The role collaborates with the Home Preservation Navigator and internal teams to manage scopes, costs, procurement, reporting, and funding compliance, supporting growth and expanded services for

Qualifications

• College degree in related field preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in construction planning and working with people.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills a must.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently without supervision.
• Able to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee home preservation projects from initial assessment to completion.
• Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Forecast third-party activities to meet annual team goals.
• Ensure paperwork is on file for contractors and track procurement.
• Manage budgets and monitor cost control opportunities.
• Engage with volunteers and staff; ensure safety and inclusivity.
• Maintain compliance with funding requirements and reporting needs.
