Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to safely deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients’ homes, clinics, or other locations as needed. You will educate patients and caregivers to ensure comfort, safety and independence.

Primary duties include assessments, equipment maintenance, and timely documentation, with on-call rotation and compliance training. Valid driver’s license and healthcare experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service, Field-based, delivery, or healthcare experience preferred.
• One year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and reassessments to support appropriate ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards, including PPE usage.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment per policies and safety standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs; report hazards or incidents as required.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately and timely to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Promote company services and products to referral sources when appropriate.
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all company policies and compliance programs.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
