Job summary

AdaptHealth LLC in California is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician – DOT to ensure safe delivery, setup, and education of home medical equipment in customers' homes or long-term care sites. The role involves operating vehicles over 10,001 pounds and maintaining DOT compliance.

You will develop knowledge of HME products, educate customers, and adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, DOT, and company policies while providing high-quality care and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Entry-level sales, customer service background preferred.
• One (1) year of HME delivery experience preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence.
• Current DOT Medical Examiner Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 85 pounds, frequently up to 100 pounds, and occasionally up to 160 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operates sprinter, box truck or other vehicle at or above 10,001 pounds and requires DOT compliance.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations.
• Manage territory to reach service goals and deliver equipment including oxygen as required in accordance with industry standards.
• Educate customers in proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment in a home setting.
• Complete written patient visits reports following set-up and follow-up visits as required.
• Assist with customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.
• Process all orders in a timely, accurate manner.
