Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes, clinics, or care settings. You will educate patients and caregivers, ensure safety, and support ongoing care with the team.

Core duties include knowledge of HME products, patient assessments, and maintaining equipment while complying with HIPAA and safety standards. A valid driver's license is required for this role and on-call rotations may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service, field-based, delivery, or healthcare experience preferred.
• 1 year of healthcare technician experience or related role preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re-assessments to support appropriate ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards, including proper PPE use.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment per policy and safety standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs; report equipment hazards or incidents as required.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Promote company services to referral sources as appropriate.
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with company policies and compliance program requirements.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
