Job summary

Golden 1 is hiring a Home Loan Advisor - External in San Jose. The role focuses on proactively soliciting new residential mortgage loans, building a strong referral network, and delivering outstanding member service.

You will manage the loan process from origination to close, with an emphasis on compliance and timely communication. Ideal candidates have at least five years in mortgage work, strong credit/financial analysis, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 4-year college degree preferred.
• Minimum five years in a mortgage related function with at least two years generating self-sourced business.
• Strong credit and general financial analysis skills.
• Knowledge of RESPA, HOEPA, QM/ATR and related regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans from self-sourced relationships and manage a lead system.
• Provide product options and disclosures to borrowers as required by law.
• Analyze financial data and assess underwriting concerns early.
• Maintain familiarity with lending programs, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Move loans through origination to close with proactive updates to applicants.
