Job summary

San Francisco Federal Credit Union in San Francisco seeks an External Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans and HELOCs, guiding members from application to closing and delivering exceptional service.

You will develop relationships with real estate agents, stay current on rates and policies, ensure compliance, and collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing to keep loans on schedule while growing the mortgage portfolio.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in residential mortgage lending or financial services.
• Active NMLS registration and licensure in good standing.
• Knowledge of Reg Z, Reg B, ECOA, FACTA, RESPA, SCRA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
• Proficiency in loan origination systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans and HELOCs to meet production goals.
• Develop relationships with real estate agents, builders, and referral sources.
• Prospect for new business through networking and community events.
• Guide members through the mortgage process from application to closing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and lending policies.
• Collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing to fulfill loan needs.
• Maintain an active pipeline and manage loan files to deadlines.
• Promote mortgage services at community and industry events.
