Role Description

We have two openings for the Home Inspector role at 1st Inspection Services. We are looking for a part-time to full-time, on-site inspector based in Cincinnati, OH or Dayton, OH. In this role, the Home Inspector will conduct detailed residential property inspections, assessing structural components, roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and overall safety conditions. The inspector will document findings through clear, accurate reports, including photos and descriptions, and communicate results to clients and to real estate professionals. Day-to-day tasks include traveling to inspection sites, following standardized inspection protocols, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company standards. The role also involves delivering excellent customer service, answering questions, and helping clients understand the condition of their properties and potential next steps.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Property Inspections and Inspection, with the ability to evaluate residential structures and systems thoroughly and accurately.


• Demonstrated Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and professional client interaction.


• Relevant certifications or licenses as a Home Inspector (or ability to obtain them within a defined timeframe), and knowledge of local and state inspection regulations.


• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple inspections and reports in a fast-paced environment.


• Basic proficiency with digital tools and software for report writing, photography, scheduling, and documentation.


• Physical ability to access attics, crawl spaces, roofs, and other challenging environments safely, following appropriate safety practices.


• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.


• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or experience in construction, engineering, or related fields is beneficial.
