Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Part-time Home Infusion RN to deliver direct care to patients in their homes. The role includes instructing and supervising patients and caregivers in safe administration, IV access maintenance, and equipment handling.

You will collaborate with pharmacy for supplies and participate in on-call coverage as required. Key duties include documenting visits, coordinating with nursing leadership, educating patients, and ensuring adherence to home infusion protocols.

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the New Jersey Board of Nursing as an RN.
• Completion of an IV certification course.
• Previous home infusion experience.
• Must be able to perform and fulfill on-call requirements.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patient-related departments, patients, families, visitors, nursing personnel and medical staff.
• Call the patient the night before a visit to schedule.
• Notify patient if running late or unable to meet agreed time.
• Arrange with pharmacy for needed supplies and sharps containers.
• Attend continuing education to keep current with certifications and home infusion therapies.
• Communicate with Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor to ensure continuity of care.
• Complete time sheets and expense vouchers within time frames.
• Educate patient and/or caregiver on administration and potential side effects.
