Job summary

Optum is seeking a Home Infusion Nurse to provide one-on-one skilled clinical care in patients' homes or ambulatory infusion suites. The role offers true autonomy with a flexible schedule and the opportunity to build meaningful connections with patients and caregivers while delivering life-changing therapies.

You’ll be supported by a multidisciplinary team with comprehensive training and resources to ensure safe, effective infusion care.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license in OR.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start.
• 1+ years of RN infusion or IV therapy experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to cover an 80 mile radius while working up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Travel to patient homes and related sites using a personal or rental vehicle in accordance with company travel policies.
• Provide safe and compliant infusion services per policies, protocols, and physician orders.
• Establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers, including education on self-care.
• Assess patient suitability for home infusion therapy, including home safety and caregiver support.
• Obtain and maintain accurate patient histories, assessments, and required documentation.
• Deliver skilled nursing care across a range of ages and conditions per physician orders and plans of care.
• Establish and access vascular devices including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and ports.
• Administer medications and monitor responses including reactions and labs.
• Communicate patient status and therapy response with care team promptly.
• Assist in staff orientation and training as requested.
