Job summary

CHRISTUS Home Health seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver therapeutic interventions in patients' homes as part of the LHC Group network. You will implement the established plan of care, teach patients and caregivers exercises, and collaborate with supervising physical therapists and the care team to optimize patient well-being.

Requires current PTA licensure, weekend availability, and ability to handle lifting and mobility tasks.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation
• CPR certification preferred or can be completed within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home care PT practice and implement the plan of care
• Instruct and assist patients in active/passive exercise, gait, ADL, and mobility training
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and care team
• Educate patient, family, and other health care team members on therapy within PTA scope
• Provide care in home settings regardless of patient demographics and conditions
