Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Wake County home health team. You will provide PT services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, following the approved plan of care, and help patients heal where they feel most comfortable—at home.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant, state-specific.
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTAs entering home health care.
• If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders and mentoring/residency may be required.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed PT and care plan.
• Observe, document and report patient responses and changes to the supervising clinician.
• Promote wellness and prevention and coordinate follow-up needs.
• Document supervisory activities in the medical record.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate outcomes to the team.
• Participate in care conferences, trainings, audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and coordinate referrals to community resources.
