Job summary

Elite Home Health, part of LHC Group and a member of Optum, is hiring a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant. You will perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and education to improve patient well-being under an established plan of care.

You will follow supervision guidelines, support patients in mobility and functional activities, and collaborate with the care team to ensure quality outcomes for diverse home settings.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and operate under the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, functional activities, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and coordinate care with the health care team.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and health care team in therapy areas within the PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of client background.
