Job summary

Interim HealthCare Inc. in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a compassionate Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide one-on-one therapy in patients' homes across Christiansburg and surrounding areas.

You will work under a Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans for recovery from illness, injury, or surgery. The role offers full-time or PRN schedules with flexible options.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Active PTA license in Virginia.
• Minimum of 1 year PTA experience preferred (home health preferred).
• CPR certification and TB baseline screening required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good clinical judgment and ability to work independently.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the service area.
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide home-based physical therapy services under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, stretching, balance training, gait training, and mobility activities.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Reinforce and carry out individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and family members on exercises, mobility techniques, safety precautions, and home exercise programs.
• Assist patients in improving strength, endurance, coordination, and functional mobility.
• Document patient visits, progress, and treatment responses accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, OTs, and SLPs to support patient goals and continuity of care.
• Maintain compliance with home health regulations and company policies.
