Job summary

Caretenders Home Health, part of LHC Group, is hiring a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to deliver therapy in patients' homes under the supervision of a PT. You will provide treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to improve well-being under the established plan of care.

This role requires a current KY PTA license, a valid driver's license, and weekend availability. Competitive compensation is offered based on productivity and local market factors.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed PTA to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Preferred CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and follow treatment defined by supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient response to treatment; coordinate care with the healthcare team as appropriate.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other health care team members in therapy within PTA scope.
• Function in any home setting regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
