Job summary

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide timely treatments and screens under a Physical Therapist's direction in our VNA Certified division. Expect per-visit pay of $50, with flexible full- and part-time schedules, and local travel options.

Responsibilities include delivering prescribed therapies, ensuring safety, coordinating with care teams, and documenting accurately, with strong emphasis on compliance and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited PTA program and active licensure in the state of practice.
• CPR certification with hands-on component or ability to obtain it.
• TB test current or able to obtain one.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Follow policies and procedures and conform to patient care standards and state laws.
• Apply identified goals and treatment programs using appropriate techniques.
• Administer care to ensure patient safety.
• Coordinate services with care teams, physicians, guardians, and nurses.
• Share knowledge and facilitate learning to improve performance of learners.
• Document per policy with minimal supervision and avoid denials after payer review.
• Update on patient’s clinical condition and maintain clear communication with the care team.
• Record hours worked and billable time according to policy.
• Serve as a resource consultant for staff and therapists.

Job description

Our Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for our VNA Certified division is responsible for provision of appropriate, timely and accurate treatments and/or screens of patients, for demonstrating consistency in clinical judgement and behavior, and for effectively communicating with both the Physical Therapist and office staff.

Pay

$50 per hour/visit based on the pay point model

What You’ll Do

• Provide physical therapy services as prescribed by the physician under the direction of a licensed physical therapist.
• Follow policies and procedures and conforms to all applicable patient care standards, licensure regulations and state laws.
• Carries out appropriate techniques according to identified goals and treatment programs.
• Administers care to ensure safety for the patient.
• Participate in coordination of services (including discharge planning), with health care teams, physicians, parent/guardians, nurses, and appropriate others.
• Shares knowledge with others and facilitates learning experiences which result in improved performance of targeted learner groups.
• Documents according to policy and procedure and requires minimal supervision or instruction.
• Documents effectively resulting in no technical or clinical denials subsequent to review of documentation by payers.
• Update self on the patient’s clinical condition.
• Maintain effective communication between Physical therapist, staff, health care team members, and family.
• Records hours worked, billable time and other required data according to Company policy.
• Serves as a resource consultant for physical therapist and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification (with hands‑on component) or able to obtain one.
• Current TB test or able to obtain one.
• Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation.
