Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home health patients. You will collaborate with the case manager, therapists, and health team to ensure continuity of care and discharge planning.

The role requires a PTA license, associate degree, and BLS certification. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with local travel; pay range $23.94–$44.53 per hour plus mileage reimbursement and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant is required.
• PTA license and BLS certification are required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication with the case manager and therapist for discharge planning.
• Meet productivity standards and adjust hours to patient needs.
• Participate in department meetings and performance-improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Monitor patient response and coordinate with the PT for adjustments.

Job Description:

Up to a $5,000 Sign on Bonus Available

Mileage reimbursement provided: $0.76 per mile

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; weekend on-call rotation

• Maintains open communication with the case manager, primary therapist, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate interdisciplinary continuity of care and appropriate discharge planning.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of patients.
• Participates in departmental meetings, education sessions, and performance improvement initiatives to maintain clinical competencies and adhere to professional and evidence-based practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and communicates with the Physical Therapist for necessary adjustments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Entry level competency of Physical therapy practice, theory, principle, and applications as defined in competency department policies.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.
