Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in Florida. The role supports patients across multiple teams with day shift coverage and collaborative care planning. Full-time schedule, with on-site duties and on-call elements as needed.

Candidates should have an Associate degree and PTA certification, basic computer skills, and be fluent in English. This position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth within AdventHealth’s healing

Qualifications

• Entry level competency of Physical therapy practice, theory, principle, and applications.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain interdisciplinary continuity of care with the case manager, primary therapist and other health professionals.
• Adjust work hours to meet patient needs while maintaining department productivity standards.
• Participate in departmental meetings, education sessions and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate with the Physical Therapist for adjustments.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on identified needs and treatment plans.
• Document interventions and progress accurately using standard terminology.

Up to $5,000 for eligible applicants

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; weekend on-call rotation

• Maintains open communication with the case manager, primary therapist, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate interdisciplinary continuity of care and appropriate discharge planning.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of patients.
• Participates in departmental meetings, education sessions, and performance improvement initiatives to maintain clinical competencies and adhere to professional and evidence-based practices.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and communicates with the Physical Therapist for necessary adjustments.
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on identified needs, ensuring understanding. Implements treatment plans established by a Physical Therapist utilizing recommended techniques, adhering to insurance guidelines and patient needs.
• Documents interventions and patient progress accurately, completely, and timely, using measurable and objective terminology in line with standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
